Sorry for the absence. Last semester got crazy and I needed a break, but now I’m back and looking for… someone… again.
I deleted my old profile on the dating site and created a new one, I hated my username and wanted something not so… old sounding.
I wanted something that represented me better as a pansexual and as a ‘female,’ I chose something inspired by deBeauvoir’s theory of women being “The Others.”
I’ll let you all know how my exploits go this time around as much as I can, when I’m not doing things for my four classes, two practicums and multiple extra curricular activities.
Like last time around, feel free to ask questions, offer me suggestions or whatever.

It’s Saturday night. I’m hanging out at the cafe on campus where I spend most nights chilling out and working events. Tonight is Karaoke so I’ll probably end up singing. I’ll also be doing some homework and making friendship bracelets for a Relay For Life fundraiser.
This is my typical Saturday night since I’m single and to be honest I don’t mind.
I hope that when I start dating someone they’ll be cool with doing this kind of thing on occasion. I like it.

It may be time for some new pics for OKC.
I got contacts today, after 10 or so years of wearing glasses. I’ll still wear my glasses from time to time but I look a little different without them. It was an odd feeling when I first put them in and was able to see without frames. I kept feeling for my glasses and getting confused as to why they weren’t there. I also keep looking down at my cheeks expecting to see my black plastic frames and they’re not there. Kind of odd.
I’m thinking I’ll take a new pic or two soon…
I woke up this morning to find someone had rated me highly on quickmatch. Great, this is usually entertaining. I played around and ended up matching highly with this kid who is really nerdy, really Christian and not big on sex.
Kind of my opposite, since I’m pansexual, pro choice and am studying human sexuality. Maybe opposites attract though?
He messaged me and included this line, which may be my new favorite:

I’m guessing he has no idea what pansexual means.

I know I’ve been neglecting OKC and my blog for the past week or so but I have my reasons.
I’ve spent the past week trying to juggle midterms and a sinus infection plus other stress that comes with college life.
Hopefully while on break I’ll be able to regroup and get back to where I was and start trying to figure out what exactly is ‘my right’ once more.
Other than having time to try to figure out why I’m still single and what I want in my life, I’m excited for a bit of a change in my life.
After wearing glasses for the past 10 or so years I’ll hopefully be getting contacts over break, as long as my optometrist and parents approve. (I honestly don’t know why it freaks them out so much, I’m an adult!)
The issue with contacts and my parents hesitance towards them reminds me of my freshman year of college, when I decided seemingly on a whim over Winter Break after my first semester away from home, that I wanted to get a second piercing in my earlobes after seeing that my younger cousins had them done. I wasn’t really sure if I wanted or needed a second piercing but my parents dislike of the idea made me want it more.
I was 18 and doing something I wanted as an adult, something that society wouldn’t look down at me for. It’s not like I was getting a crazy tattoo or a strange piercing, things that completely freak my traditional parents out. (and both of which I plan on doing at some point)
Thankfully I ended up loving my second piercings and even my parents now admit they look good. (My dad did forget I’d gotten them done at one point and when visiting me at school a few months later complemented the tiny studs and asked when I’d gotten them done.)
The contacts won’t be an act of rebellion so much as a change towards being more of an adult. My friends have said it will be odd to see me without glasses but I think I’ll like it. I mean, I do plan to get some cute sunglasses, something I haven’t been able to do since middle school!

I decided to take a one week break from trying to find love for a variety of reasons, namely midterms, my insane course load, lack of free time and the fact that I’ve been sick all week.
I’m planning on getting back on OKC tonight and possibly updating/changing my profile some.
